Mission Statement The Colonial Heights School of Music is a ministry of Colonial Heights Baptist Church of Colonial Heights, VA. It is our purpose to provide music instruction for children and adults in the areas of instrumental, vocal, and basic musical reading skills. The curriculum is designed to maximize the student’s musical potential with the goal of preparing each individual for future service in music ministry and for personal enjoyment.
“Sing to Him a new song, play skillfully with a shout of joy.” Psalm 33:3
About the Program The Colonial Heights School of Music now offers both private (applied) and group instructional lessons on over 20 instruments. We have recently expanded our faculty to 11 teachers with extensive experience and backgrounds.
Both our applied lessons and our classes are reasonably priced and open to all ages. Registration is now available all year long. New also this year are our easy monthly payments of $60.00/month ($15.00 per half hour lesson), and the option to pay online securely using PayPal. Applied lessons start monthly, classes are formed after a certain number of students have registered. We offer 8 classes with topics ranging from Music Theory to Music Composition to Worship Leading, on both basic and intermediate levels. Our spotlight class beginning in June is a "Beginner Guitar" class. We also have a series of forums which will be open on select weeknights for musicians and songwriters to gather and hone their crafts together. Forums are free of charge. If you would like more information on any of our applied lessons, available classes, or forums, please contact the School of Music.
