Rev. Wes Rose (email)
Missions, College, and Singles Pastor
Wes, with his wife and best friend Karen, joined Colonial Heights Baptist Church in 1990. A genuine love and acceptance by the members of CHBC along with an uncompromising view of scripture and powerful music ministry were determining factors in Wes and Karen making Colonial Heights Baptist their home. As lay members of the church, they worked actively in the ministry areas of youth, children, and adult discipleship and in the music.
In September of 2006, Wes accepted the call to full-time ministry with Colonial Heights Baptist in the areas of Missions, Singles Ministry and Discipleship. Wes comes to the church with twelve years experience at the International Mission Board, SBC. Prior to working at the IMB, Wes was a writer, trainer and analyst of defense and logistics systems for several Departments of the U.S. Army and Defense contractors.
Wes is a native of Roanoke, VA , but spent most of his childhood years in Colonial Heights. He earned his A.S. from Richard Bland College (Petersburg, VA) and his BBA from James Madison University (Harrisonburg, VA) where he majored in Marketing. Wes and Karen have four wonderful and exciting children: Lauren, Daniel, Branson and Benjamin. Outside of church ministry, Wes enjoys camping at the beach and mountains with his family, coaching youth baseball and football, running & hiking and playing bass guitar. One of his family’s favorite getaways is to Fries, VA where they fish, hike and mountain bike down the New River Trail.
Wes is excited and, at times, overwhelmed by the blessings and opportunities God has given him. Wes’ goal is to glorify God in all things and to be a good and faithful steward in all that God has given him.
